Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Austin, TX seeks an entry-level Roadway Engineer to join our Roads & Highways Central Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Austin, TX.

Your Role involves performing plans, investigations, surveys, structures or equipment with guidance, exercising independent judgment, and coordinating with junior professionals on assignments. EIT is required and you are working toward a PE license.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0-2 years of professional experience in a related technical field.
• EIT required and working towards PE license.
• Basic computer skills and CAD/MicroStation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform work involving plans, investigations, surveys, structures or equipment for diversified projects.
• Exercise independent judgment on regular assignments and coordinate with junior staff.
• Interface with senior professionals and managers, applying sound professional judgment.

Job Description Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Roadway Engineer to join our Roads & Highways Central Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Austin, TX.

Your Role Perform work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures or equipment, to carry out diversified engineering projects or phases of a single project with relatively few complex features and requiring the use of analysis, interpretation, and deductive reasoning. Exercise independent judgement on regular assignments. Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions. Work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment and assistance is furnished on unusual problems. Coordinate with and/or guide the work of junior professionals, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments. Interface with senior technical professionals and technical managers.

About You

EXPERIENCE: 0-2 Years of professional experience in a related technical field.

EDUCATION: Completion of Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited college/university.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases. Technical writing, computer and communications skills required, CAD and MicroStation skills preferred.

PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS: EIT required and working towards attaining PE license.

Additional Information

Expected compensation range is between $79,000 - $82,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
