Job summary

Summit Design and Engineering Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer specialized in land development in Raleigh, NC.

You will analyze and design civil components under a project manager, deliver design calculations, permit applications, and plan sets for storm drainage, sewer mains, grading, sediment control, and roadways. You will produce final grading plans in Civil 3D, coordinate with permitting agencies, and drive timely submittals.

Qualifications

Job description

Responsibilities:Analyze and design civil engineering land development components under the project manager's direct supervision.Provide design calculations, technical reports, permit applications, and plan sets for storm drainage, sanitary sewer mains, stormwater control facilities, pressure networks, mass and fine grading, sediment and erosion control, and roadways.Generate final design grading plans using Civil 3D features.Ensure that all steps and procedures are followed throughout the local jurisdictional requirements.Coordinate with permitting agencies and respond to comments.Supervise construction administration-related duties such as meetings, site visits, responses to RFIs, and review of shop drawings.Work on multiple project tasks prioritizing responsibilities.Manage deadlines for on-time submittals to maintain the overall project's schedule.Enhance final plan sets with exceptional attention to detail.Actively assist in the Quality Control throughout the project.Interface with clients as required, including periodically updating project status.Inspire a high level of performance from the team.Maintain client relationships.Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related technical certificate.Practical knowledge of land development design and methodsProficiency with Civil 3D and associated design and modeling software.Knowledge of Civil Engineering design requirements and principles.Ability to read and interpret technical information.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.Ability to work collaboratively with others.Ability to multi-task and prioritize.Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.Ability to work independently as well as on teams.Valid Driver's license with a good driving record and ability to drive.Most work will require the ability to sit for extended periods, but on occasion, will visit job sites and be exposed to rough or uneven terrain, dust, noise, and fumes in various weather conditions.
