Job summary

Benesch's Railroad Division is offering an exciting internship opportunity for students pursuing a career in civil engineering with a focus on railroad track design. As an intern, you will have the chance to collaborate on real-world railway and transit projects, gaining hands-on experience in design, development, and project execution.

You will support senior engineers, contribute to design processes, and play an integral role in innovative transportation solutions.

Qualifications

Pursuing a BS in Civil or Construction Engineering or related engineering curriculum.
Progressive experience with developing plans and specifications using MicroStation.
Strong organizational and leadership skills with a track record of meeting budgets and schedules.
Ability to perform complex analysis and design.
Ability to assemble a complete design package for assigned elements or projects.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design and development of railway and transit infrastructure projects.
Conduct engineering calculations for railway system design and analysis.
Support the design of system layouts while coordinating with various disciplines.
Develop task deliverables in a clear, thorough, and reviewable manner.
Ensure tasks are completed on schedule and within the assigned budget.
Work independently under the direction of a Project Manager.
