Job summary

Garver in Huntsville, Alabama is seeking a civil engineering student for a Transportation Intern - Roadway. This in-office internship provides hands-on experience in highway design, traffic maintenance, and drainage projects, mentored by our Highway Transportation Team.

You will learn DOT design standards, gain exposure to plan preparation, and use MicroStation, Inroads/OpenRoads, CulvertMaster/FlowMaster while developing teamwork and communication skills in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a civil engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program.
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in transportation engineering.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous internship experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in plan preparation and design with our transportation team.
• Learn and apply DOT highway design standards and plan preparation.
• Use industry design software such as MicroStation, Inroads/OpenRoads, CulvertMaster/FlowMaster.
• Be a strong team player and aim to contribute to the design team.
