Job summary

State of Arizona Department of Transportation seeks a Roadway Design Engineer to lead design teams and develop complex roadway plans in Phoenix. You will manage scope, schedule, and budgets while coordinating with utilities, ROW, and environmental planning to ensure conformance with ADOT guidelines and federal/state regulations.

The role offers a $4,000 hiring incentive and may provide remote work within Arizona based on performance and business needs.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Arizona PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience with roadway design and project management.
• Strong knowledge of ADOT guidelines and federal/state regulations.
• Ability to communicate with stakeholders and manage design teams.

Responsibilities

• Develops or oversees roadway designs, construction plans, and details.
• Lead design teams, manage scope, schedule and budget.
• Coordinate with utilities, ROW, and environmental planning.
• Review shop drawings and construction change orders.
• Provide design expertise during pre-design and post-design phases.
