Job summary

Fishbeck invites a Transportation Engineer to join its Michigan team in Farmington Hills. You will lead roadway design, collaborate with MDOT, clients and contractors, and advance projects across Michigan and the Midwest.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree with 0–10+ years of roadway experience, MicroStation/Geopak proficiency, and a PE license is preferred for senior roles. Hybrid options and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0–10+ years of roadway engineering experience; MDOT/local agency preferred.
• Professional Engineer license in Michigan preferred and required for senior-level candidates.
• Proficiency in MicroStation/Geopak; AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus.
• Familiarity with HEC-RAS, HY8, StormCAD, and 3D modeling.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support plan production and technical design for roadway and freeway projects using MicroStation OpenRoads, Geopak, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, local agencies, MDOT, and contractors to deliver high-quality transportation projects.
• Assist with or lead project budgets, schedules, and technical/marketing proposals.
• Prepare quantities and construction cost estimates for bidding.
• Provide or support storm sewer drainage design, signing plans, pavement markings, maintenance of traffic plans, and 3D modeling.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and collaborate with clients, agencies, and internal teams across Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana.
