Job summary

Consor in Chattanooga, TN seeks a roadway design engineer to support transportation improvement projects, performing design and detailing of roadways and highways. You will work on alignments, cross-sections, and design documentation, while partnering with the project manager to ensure quality and compliance.

The role requires a PE license, 4+ years of transportation experience, and proficiency in Microstation, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D, in a hybrid office/field setting with potential weather

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum four years of transportation engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proficiency in Microstation, AutoCad, and Civil3D software.
• This hybrid job operates between office and field environments with possible exposure to weather and hazards.
• Physical demands include sitting, standing, and lifting up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing typical sections, alignments, profiles, layouts, and cross-sections.
• Support design team in development of design documentation, plans, and reports for tasks and quantity calculations.
• Monitor compliance with applicable codes and engineering practices.
• Perform engineering calculations and estimates.
• Collect and process data for topographic surveys and ROW engineering for design analysis.
