Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in DeLand, FL seeks a Roadway Design Engineer II to help deliver FDOT roadway projects. You will design plans and drawings, perform investigations, and coordinate with multiple disciplines. Relocation support is available for candidates joining our DeLand team. The role includes exposure to the Embedded Staff Program for professional growth.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S. or M.S. in Engineering with 4–6 years since degree, strong technical writing, CAD skills, and E.I./EIT credentials

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Engineering; 4–6 years since degree typical.
• Technical writing, computer, and communications skills required.
• CAD skills preferred; E.I. or EIT required, P.E preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops roadway plans and drawings, including layouts and final drawings.
• Conducts investigations and planning work with a well-defined scope under review.
• Reviews shop drawings for conformance during construction and prepares progress records.
• Researches design feasibility, site conditions, and regulatory requirements.
• Assists in preparing specifications and permit applications; writes reports.
• Produces preliminary man-hour, cost, and material estimates.
• Coordinates with other disciplines and project stakeholders.
• Performs field observations of construction when appropriate.
