Job summary

Atlas is seeking an entry-level Roadway Engineer to support planning, execution, and delivery of transportation projects under the supervision of a registered professional engineer. You will develop roadway design components, prepare drawings, calculations, and reports, gaining knowledge of regulations and standards.

Bachelor's degree is required; EIT certification is preferred with the ability to obtain licensure within 1 year. Travel up to 5% may be required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• No minimum experience required.
• Basic awareness of problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Basic awareness of digital literacy skills.
• EIT certification preferred with ability to obtain license within 1 year.
• Must be competent in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of Bentley MicroStation or OpenRoads preferred.
• Ability to travel 5% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Develops basic roadway geometric design and related tasks.
• Prepares layout drawings, construction details, design calculations, and reports.
• Develops engineering project objectives by reviewing proposals and plans.
• Documents engineering calculations and decisions in reports/databases.
• Ensures designs comply with transportation engineering regulations and standards.
