Job summary

Horrocks is seeking an Engineer-In-Training for Roadway to support design tasks and project delivery. You will collaborate with Project Managers and engineers, applying civil engineering design and calculations to a variety of transportation projects.

Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply. The role may involve travel, fieldwork, and continuing EIT certification within 6–12 months, with a focus on safety and quality in a collaborative team setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent; EIT expected within 6–12 months.
• Ability to develop designs and documentation using MicroStation ORD and/or Autodesk Civil 3D or other design software.
• Willingness to travel and perform fieldwork as needed.
• Strong prioritization and time management to meet client deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers and Engineers with engineering design tasks for various projects.
• Perform civil engineering design and calculations and interpret plans from other disciplines.
• Apply technical expertise and collaborate with a project team on conventional and unconventional projects.
• Conduct independent research and adapt to changing priorities.
• Adhere to safety standards and maintain a safe, efficient work environment.
• Deliver accurate work product and maintain professionalism with clients and colleagues.
