Job summary

HMB is seeking a Roadway Design Engineer in Kentucky with opportunities to work on signature projects in Lexington, Frankfort, or Louisville. The role offers mentorship from senior engineers and potential growth into a Project Manager position while collaborating across project teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of roadway design experience
• OpenRoads Designer experience preferred
• PE Certification preferred
• Detail-oriented with strong technical and organizational skills
• Proficient in spreadsheets and word processing
• Able to meet deadlines in multidisciplinary teams
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Self-starter with initiative

Responsibilities

• Support roadway design tasks with project teams and senior engineers
• Collaborate with Project Managers to meet schedule and budget
• Grow into Project Manager through mentorship and increased responsibility
• Prepare design drawings, details, presentations, and construction documents
• Assist in permit applications and submittal packages
• Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, permitting agencies, ROW staff, utilities, stakeholders, and contractors
• Support development and tracking of project scopes, schedules, and budgets
