Job summary

CME Associates is seeking a Roadway Design Engineer in the Kentucky region (Lexington, Frankfort, or Louisville) with opportunities to work on signature projects and collaborate with design staff. The role offers mentorship, growth toward a Project Manager position, and a hybrid work schedule.

Ideal candidates will have 6+ years in roadway design, experience with OpenRoads Designer, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years experience in all technical aspects of roadway design.
• OpenRoads Designer experience preferred.
• PE certification preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong technical and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets and word processing.
• Works well in multidisciplinary teams and meets deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support roadway design tasks through collaboration with project teams and mentorship from senior engineers.
• Work with Project Managers to ensure designs meet schedule and budget expectations.
• Grow into a Project Manager role through mentorship and increasing responsibility.
• Prepare design drawings, details, presentations, and construction documents.
• Assist in preparing permit applications and submittal packages for regulatory review.
• Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, permitting agencies, ROW staff, utilities, stakeholders, and contractors.
• Support development and tracking of project scopes, schedules, and budgets to meet objectives.
