Job summary

Join AECOM’s Transportation team as a Civil Highway Engineering Designer, supporting projects across PA, DE, and WV. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to large regional design-build interstate projects and local initiatives, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions shaping tomorrow’s transportation landscape.

You’ll work with advanced design tools and mentor entry-level engineers while helping prepare plans, specifications, and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 4 years of highway/transportation design experience.
• EIT certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Valid US driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed engineering tasks for highway and roadway projects.
• Gather and correlate data; identify discrepancies and propose solutions.
• Oversee signing, pavement marking plans, construction phasing, and MOT.
• Coordinate with disciplines; resolve issues via reviews and client feedback.
• Prepare specifications, quantities, cost estimates, reports, and 3D models.
• Adhere to QA procedures; complete technical reviews and staffing decisions.
• Mentor entry-level engineers; contribute to proposals and presentations.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and seek process improvements.
