Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Highway Engineering Designer to support highway projects across PA, DE, and WV. The role offers hybrid work and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative transportation solutions.

You will use Bentley OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, and AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce design work and support regional design-build efforts. AECOM emphasizes mentorship, professional growth, and a commitment to community impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; 4 years of highway/transportation design experience.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Valid US driver’s license for site visits.
• Experience with Bentley OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, or AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed and routine engineering assignments for highway projects.
• Gather and correlate engineering data; identify discrepancies and propose solutions.
• Oversee signing, pavement marking plans, construction phasing, and MUTCD plans.
• Coordinate with disciplines to resolve utility conflicts and client feedback.
• Prepare specs, quantities, cost estimates, reports, and 3D models using design tools.
• Follow QA/QC procedures; contribute to staffing decisions.
• Mentor entry-level engineers and support proposals and presentations.
