Job summary

Join AECOM’s Transportation team as a Civil Highway Engineering Designer supporting projects across Pennsylvania, Delaware, and West Virginia. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to large regional design-build interstate projects, as well as impactful local work.

You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, leverage advanced design tools, and help deliver innovative, sustainable transportation solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 4 years of highway/transportation design experience.
EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
Valid US driver's license for site visits.
Experience with Bentley OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation or AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

Perform detailed engineering assignments, including calculations and design tasks for highway projects.
Gather data and propose solutions using standard methods.
Oversee signs, pavement marking plans, and traffic control plans.
Coordinate with disciplines to resolve utility conflicts.
Prepare construction specs, quantities, cost estimates, and 3D models.
Adhere to QA procedures and contribute to reviews.
Mentor entry-level engineers and assist proposals.
Work independently with minimal supervision and seek improvements.
