Job summary

GHD is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer – Municipal Roadways in California to lead roadway design for small to midsize municipal projects. You will work directly with clients, coordinate the full range of disciplines, and own design packages from concept through construction.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of civil engineering experience, a CA PE license or eligibility within 12 months, and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D. Hybrid work model in CA offices is available.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive civil engineering experience focused on municipal roadways.
• California PE license or eligibility to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Experience coordinating complete design packages and public works projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead roadway design tasks for municipal roadways and related projects.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and PS&E packages with clients and agencies.
• Ensure designs comply with Caltrans and local agency standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and support bidding and construction.
