Job summary

gpac is seeking a Civil Roadway/Transportation Design Engineer in Georgia to plan, design, and develop transportation projects from concept to construction documents. You will work with project managers, surveyors, utilities, and agencies to deliver safe, code-compliant roadway improvements.

The role requires active participation in design reviews, coordination across disciplines, and mentorship of junior staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
PE license preferred or required based on position.
Experience in roadway/transportation design.
Proficiency with Civil 3D, OpenRoads/MicroStation or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Design roadway and transportation infrastructure projects including new roads and improvements.
Prepare roadway plans, profiles, typical sections, drainage layouts, and construction details.
Develop alignments, corridor models, profiles, cross-sections, and earthwork quantities.
Perform roadway geometric design per standards and coordinate with utilities, drainage, and traffic disciplines.
Assist with permitting, agency coordination, and permit documentation.
Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, and construction documentation.
Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on standards and practices.
