Job summary

CKL ENGINEERS, LLC is seeking a Roadway Engineer to contribute to our Chicago design group. The role focuses on roadway design, construction management, and entrepreneurial growth, with responsibilities across regional surface transportation projects and on-site inspections in Chicago and Northern Illinois.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, E.I.T, proficiency with MicroStation/GEOPAK/AutoCAD/Civil3D, and 0–5 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related field required.
• E.I.T. required.
• Knowledge and experience with CAD design software such as MicroStation/GEOPAK/AutoCAD/Civil3D.
• 0–5 years’ experience.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills.
• Private and/or public sector engineering experience.
• Background and substance abuse test clearance.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• U.S. citizen required.

Responsibilities

• Use manuals, guidance, standards and engineering judgment to provide infrastructure solutions on regional surface transportation projects.
• Provide design and construction management services for clients and partner firms including on-site project representation/inspection throughout Chicago and/or Northern Illinois.
• Build upon relationships and foster new relationships.
• Be a strong consensus builder and team player.
• Be a continuing learner and willing to grow with the company.
• Learn skills in technical writing, documentation, proposal writing and presentations.
• Be willing to take on tasks inside and outside of the market to sustain and grow the business.
