Job summary

Collins Engineers in Chicago, IL is seeking a Senior Roadway Design Engineer to lead and grow our Civil Group. This role focuses on diverse roadway/transportation projects, with responsibilities from concept to completion and a strong emphasis on standards compliance and client satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have about 10 years of progressive roadway design experience, a PE license, and proficiency with Microstation/OpenRoads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience.
• Strong understanding of IDOT, Illinois Tollway, and local standards.
• Proficiency in engineering design software; Microstation/OpenRoads preferred.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage roadway/transportation engineering projects from concept to completion.
• Ensure projects meet technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and effective solutions.
• Prepare and review project plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers.
• Adopts and implements in-house QA/QC program and participates in technical societies.
