Job summary

Consor is seeking a Roadway Design Engineer to contribute to roadway and multimodal design projects, ensuring compliance with standards and applying engineering judgment. You will work under guidance, progress to ownership of tasks and collaborate with senior engineers and clients in a hybrid office/field setup.

The role requires a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering, 5–10+ years on TxDOT projects, and a PE license, with proficiency in Microstation ORD, AutoCAD, and Civil3D.

What Your Day Will Look Like:

As a Roadway Design Engineer, you\'ll apply engineering principles and technical expertise to the design and analysis of transportation projects under the guidance of senior engineers. You’ll contribute to roadway and multimodal design development, ensure compliance with design standards, and begin taking ownership of assigned tasks while advancing your professional judgment and project experience.

What You\'ll Do:

  • Apply engineering standards and codes to ensure accuracy and compliance in design work.
  • Support coordination with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and reviewing agencies.

What You\'ll Need:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 5-10+ years of transportation engineering experience with TxDOT projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proficiency in Microstation ORD, AutoCad, and Civil3D software.
  • Proposal writing/marketing experience is a plus.
  • This hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copy machines. May require occasional exposure to work environments that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.
  • While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling. This job may occasionally require operating a company vehicle, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
