Job summary

Sarasota County Government is seeking a Construction Project Manager in the Capital Projects division to oversee CIP contracts, from small stormwater ponds to bridge and roadway work. You will ensure contract administration, field oversight, and coordination with CEI firms and internal stakeholders.

Two level roles (PM II/III) require engineering/PM degrees and 3–5 years CIP experience, with Florida driver’s license. Starting pay ranges reflect experience and project complexity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field and minimum CIP experience (3 years for PM II).
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field and minimum CIP experience (2 years for PM II).
• Experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
• Valid Florida driver’s license at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Contract administration and oversight of contractor operations.
• Frequent field reviews of construction operations, temporary traffic control, erosion and sediment controls.
• Preconstruction, progress, and pre-activity meetings.
