Job summary

The City of Fort Lauderdale is hiring an Engineering Project Manager to lead essential capital improvement projects in bridges, seawalls and utilities. This role oversees design and construction, manages consultants and contractors, and ensures projects meet scope, budget and timelines.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering, at least 3 years of relevant experience, and may hold a Florida professional license or PMP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering or related field.
• At least three years' experience in construction management and/or public works engineering for water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Veterans’ Preference documentation may be required per Florida statutes and agency policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and construction of municipal public works and utility projects from planning through warranty.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and city departments to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with QA.
• Prepare and review bid documents, contracts, pay requests, and project reports for upper management.
