Job summary

Escambia County is seeking a Bridge Program Manager to oversee ongoing capital improvements for county bridges. The role involves management of contracts, inspections, cost analysis, design plan reviews, and specifications, with responsibility to address DOT corrective actions.

This is a supervisory, senior-level position in Pensacola, FL. The ideal candidate will have a 4-year engineering degree, at least six years in bridge construction/rehabilitation/management, and supervisory experience; PE

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a construction related field with at least six years of bridge construction/rehabilitation/management experience
• At least one year of supervisory experience
• Must possess a valid driver's license from state of residence
• Preferred: Professional Engineer (P.E.) and NBIS certification
• Experience with design involving structural steel, concrete, masonry, and high wind design, plus knowledge of roadways/bridges and geotechnical evaluations
• Experience with AutoCAD or Autodesk Revit or other bridge design/analysis software

Responsibilities

• Manage the bridge program and other capital improvement projects, including planning, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating programs and contracts
• Review engineering drawings, plans, and specifications; provide cost estimates and recommendations
• Coordinate inspections and address corrective actions with the Florida DOT
• Develop budgets and present technical information to boards and committees
