Job summary

Duininck is seeking an intern for our Heavy Highway & Civil teams to gain firsthand construction knowledge and experience. This role focuses on completing a full range of construction activities efficiently, while learning under project managers, superintendents, estimators, and crew leads.

You will shadow supervisors, assist in scheduling, and participate in meetings, with exposure to estimating and Bid2Win software. Projects may be located across MN, SD, ND, or IA.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or construction engineering.
• Solid understanding of construction practices and safety rules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day project operations management.
• Assist Project Managers with compliance and field oversight.
• Document daily and weekly progress reports.
• Assist with quality and quantity reporting.
• Read drawings and interpret technical documents.
• Assist with scheduling and coordination.

Skills

Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills

Strong written and verbal skills

Self-starter with proactive approach

Ability to read, write, and interpret

Education

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or construction engineering
