MBP (McDonough Bolyard Peck) is seeking a construction inspector responsible for on-site compliance, QA, and progress monitoring on transportation projects in the Charlottesville area.

The role requires field experience, OSHA certification, and ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders. Duties include record-keeping, materials testing coordination, and support administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• OSHA 10- or 30-hour certification or obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Basic math skills for field measurements (algebra, geometry, trigonometry).
• Construction-related training/experience in road/bridge projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site compliance inspection, QA, and progress monitoring for conformance to plans and specs.
• Maintain daily records and perform basic calculations for documentation.
• Verify materials and samples; coordinate with labs for testing when needed.
• Assist with review of payment applications and final inspections; create punch lists.
