Job summary

CDM Smith in the United States seeks an inspector to evaluate roadway, bridge, drainage, and related infrastructure projects. Under supervision, you will perform inspections to ensure materials and construction meet plans, specs, and provisions, using industry gauges and calculations.

You will review drawings and contract documents, communicate findings to the project supervisor, and help plan assignments for other inspectors.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; 4 years of related experience.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or national entity such as ACI or NICET if required by the client jurisdiction.
• Valid driver’s license; travel is 60%–90% depending on project needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to high complexity inspections of transportation infrastructure to evaluate materials and construction against plans and specifications.
• Review inspection documentation including drawings, plans, specifications, and contracts.
• Communicate inspection results to the project supervisor and plan assignments for other inspectors as needed.
• Conduct basic to moderately complex field measurements for quantity and pay-item documentation; perform other duties as required.
