Job summary

JMT in South Carolina is seeking Inspectors to apply standard inspection procedures on roadway and bridge construction to ensure quality, safety and conformance to plans. This field role may involve travel and outdoor work.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and SCDOT certifications or the ability to obtain them within 6 months; pass JMT's motor vehicle screening; and be prepared for varied weather and physical requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience).
• SCDOT certifications or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.
• Performs routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes.
• Gathers and maintains record documents
• Makes field notes and computations
