Job summary

HDR is seeking a qualified Construction Inspector to perform inspection for Roadway, Utilities, Civil and Structures on the I-5 Improvement Project in Irvine, CA. The role requires Caltrans experience and strict compliance with local, Caltrans, and federal regulations.

You will inspect paving, structures, and subgrade, review plans, prepare diaries and reports, coordinate QA testing, and support closeout documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Previous Caltrans experience preferred.
• Technical school or associate degree preferred.
• Ability to interpret construction schedules.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction inspection for roadway, utilities, civil and structures.
• Review project plans for errors and assist with change orders.
• Prepare daily diaries, calculations, records, and reports.
• Coordinate materials sampling and testing with Caltrans/QA entities.
• Assist in preparing As-Built plans and field condition documentation.
• Work flexible hours including nights/weekends as required.
