Job summary

County of Culpeper is seeking a professional to supervise offenders assigned to roadside litter pickup under probation. You will coordinate with Local Probation Officers, identify litter sites, assign areas, and document hours and outcomes to ensure compliance.

The position requires knowledge of federal, state, and local criminal justice laws, experience in case management, and strong motivational interviewing skills.

Qualifications

• Education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma with related coursework in criminal justice, social work, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience performing criminal justice/case management duties.
• Must obtain satisfactory results of a criminal history background check.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Virginia driver's license.
• Must be trained in Motivational Interviewing and participate in Learning Teams.

Responsibilities

• Performs professional work involving roadside litter pickup by offenders placed on probation.
• Identifies roadside litter pickup sites with probation officers and determines areas assigned.
• Calculates credit hours and maintains records of offender work completed.
• Provides supervision of offenders during cleanup and coordinates with VDOT for site removal.
