Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. in Houston, TX is seeking a diesel technician/mechanic to diagnose and repair truck maintenance issues on the road and on site, focusing on safe roadside assistance.

You will respond to calls, perform diagnostics, restock tool vehicle, and assist with in-shop repairs. A 2-4 year track record in tractor trailer maintenance and a CDL with air brake certification are required; willingness to travel district.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational/Technical or certification preferred.
• Specialized training in the repair and replacement of vehicle components preferred.
• Proficiency in the use of shop tools required.
• Current CDL license with air brake certification required. Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence.
• Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
• DOT/OSHA safety policy compliance and proper tool usage required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to road assist calls and identify parts to replace and determine warrantable repairs.
• Perform diagnostics and quick repairs for road-side calls.
• Restock rapid assist vehicle with tools, parts, tires, or anything else required to perform an effective road assist.
• Perform maintenance or repairs to road assist vehicle as required.
• When not on road calls, assist with designated in-shop repairs as directed by supervisor.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
