Job summary

Chelan County Public Works is seeking an experienced inspector to oversee county and private road construction, utilities, and related fieldwork in Wenatchee, WA. You will ensure compliance with plans, specs, and regulations, coordinating with engineers and contractors to support safe, durable infrastructure.

Requires a high school diploma or GED with at least four years in public works or construction, plus strong math and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and four years in construction/public works.
• Experience in roadway or utility construction, surveying, or right-of-way.
• Ability to calculate elevations and quantities; basic math skills.
• Civil Engineering Technology training or coursework beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Review plans for subdivision construction projects.
• Field measurements to verify dimension accuracy of installations and layout.
• Verify elevation of road/easement alignment and structure installation.
• Construction inspection to ensure conformity with project specifications.
• Inspection of utilities for location, grade and restoration per standards.
• Record materials quantities and maintain daily logs.
