Job summary

Washington County, MN is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform a variety of skilled maintenance tasks to support Public Works and ensure the safety and security of county residents and visitors. The role requires operating multiple types of motorized equipment, road and park maintenance, and adherence to safety standards.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, three years of relevant maintenance experience, and a valid Class B CDL with Air Brake.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of full-time highway/road or parks maintenance experience including operation of motorized equipment.
• Valid Class B CDL with Air Brake designation not suspended, canceled, or revoked.
• Must obtain Class A CDL with 5th wheel, Tanker, Manual Transmission within six months.
• Finalist will pass drug test, physical exam, background check, license verification at County expense.

Responsibilities

• Perform snow and ice control to county standards.
• Operate vehicles and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
• Document time spent on projects, equipment, roads, parks, or facilities; document materials used.
• Provide direction to temporary employees and perform grounds maintenance duties including brush clearance and debris removal.
• Repair and conduct minor maintenance of equipment and facilities (lubrication, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
