Job summary

City of Havre de Grace is seeking a dedicated maintenance worker to support street, sidewalk, and utility upkeep. The role includes operating multiple truck types, performing concrete work, and responding to service calls in various weather conditions.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a Class B CDL within a year. This is a full-time, on-site position with outdoor work responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of maintenance and repair activities; ability to operate hand tools and small power tools.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing and work as part of a team.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a Class B CDL within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Installs, removes, repairs and maintains sidewalks, curbs, gutters, roads, and storm drains.
• Operates trucks of varying sizes safely and efficiently.
• Performs maintenance of storm drains and inlets; cuts grass and trims trees.
• Repairs potholes; works on the blacktop crew; forms and finishes concrete.
