Job summary

Bay County Board of County Commissioners in Panama City, FL is seeking an laborer/helper to participate in the maintenance and repair of the county road system. You will assist in project planning, ditch cleaning, and weed control, often working in trenches with water and heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years’ experience in construction, maintenance and repair work.
• Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain a valid Florida driver license.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs the Bay County road system.
• Assists supervisor in planning and layout of projects.
• Assists in cleaning ditches and controlling weed growth in drainage areas.
• Operates light construction equipment and various vehicles; sets up pumps, compressors and generators.
• Keeps basic records and assists in level work and grading.
