Job summary

Indian River County Board of County Commissioners is seeking an experienced maintenance worker to perform a range of roadway construction tasks including concrete sidewalk repair, asphalt patching, guardrail maintenance, drainage work, and irrigation system repairs. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with five years related skilled labor.
• Valid Class E Driver’s License required.
• Experience in carpentry, asphalt, masonry or drainage construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repairs sidewalks by removing, forming, pouring, and finishing concrete.
• Repairs uneven sidewalks by grinding concrete.
• Performs duties to place hot mix asphalt in patches or potholes within roadways.
• Maintains guardrails and performs repairs as needed.
• Removes and replaces drainage pipes and structures as needed.
• Repairs or replaces irrigation systems as needed.
• Constructs concrete or rip-rap headwalls using various techniques.
• Constructs and repairs stormwater inlets as needed.
