Position Overview

North East Township seeks a reliable and physically capable Road Crew Worker to join our municipal maintenance team. This hands-on role supports the upkeep of Township roads, properties, vehicles, and equipment while contributing to public safety and the overall appearance of the community. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, safety-minded, and comfortable performing various outdoor maintenance tasks.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

• Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with CDL endorsement is required.
• Physical ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Ability to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions and safety guidelines.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle and equipment operation, routine maintenance, and safe handling.
• Willingness to work outdoors for extended periods, including in rain, snow, heat, and cold.
• Capacity to safely operate small tools, power tools, and Township equipment.
• Must be able to pass required random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Township policy and applicable law.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively alone or as part of a team; strong work ethic required.

Primary Duties

Responsibilities may include routine road repairs, pothole patching, culvert and ditch maintenance, snow plowing and ice control, vegetation management, roadside mowing, equipment and vehicle operation, loading and unloading materials, and general labor tasks assigned by the Road Crew Supervisor. Employees are expected to adhere to safety protocols and perform duties with attention to quality and timeliness.
