Job summary

North East Township is seeking a reliable Road Crew Worker to support the municipal maintenance team in keeping roads, properties, vehicles, and equipment safe and clean. The role involves hands-on outdoor tasks, requires safety-mindedness and the ability to work in various weather conditions.

Ideal candidates are hardworking, punctual, and able to follow instructions, with a valid Pennsylvania CDL endorsement and the capacity to operate small power tools and Township equipment.

Qualifications

• Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with CDL endorsement is required.
• Physical ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Ability to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions and safety guidelines.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle and equipment operation, routine maintenance, and safe handling.
• Willingness to work outdoors for extended periods, including in rain, snow, heat, and cold.
• Capacity to safely operate small tools, power tools, and Township equipment.
• Must be able to pass required random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Township policy and applicable law.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively alone or as part of a team; strong work ethic required.

Responsibilities

• Routine road repairs and roadway maintenance.
• Pothole patching and ditch maintenance.
• Snow plowing and ice control duties.
• Vegetation management and roadside mowing.
• Operate equipment, load/unload materials, perform general labor tasks.
