Job summary

Transdev is seeking a Supervisor to lead front-line operations, coaching bus operators, ensuring scheduling efficiency, and delivering excellent customer service and safety compliance.

You will connect drivers with management and clients, ensure performance standards, and support safety programs with hands-on training and investigations. This role requires CDL, leadership experience, and flexibility for shifts.

Qualifications

  • Must hold valid CDL Class A or B with passenger and airbrake endorsements.
  • 3+ years of driving experience as a Bus Operator; supervisor experience required.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills; ability to lead a team.
  • Willingness to work shifts or flexible schedules; able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates job requirements and responsibilities to drivers.
  • Manages day-to-day scheduling, coaching and evaluation reports to local management.
  • Conducts on-the-scene accident investigation; assists drivers with reports and safety documents.
  • Delivers driver training and safety courses; trains new drivers and retrains those involved in accidents.
  • Observes drivers on the road, corrects safety problems on the scene and documents violations.
  • Liaisons between drivers, clients and organization on customer service issues.
  • Evaluates and monitors driver safety and performance; ensures policy compliance.
  • Assists Safety Manager with DOT/FTA compliance and recordkeeping.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicates job requirements and responsibilities to drivers.
  • Takes responsibility for day to day scheduling, counseling and evaluation reports to local management.
  • Conducts on-the-scene accident investigation; assists drivers in preparing accident reports, OSHA reports and safety violations documents.
  • Delivers driver training and safety courses; trains new drivers and retrains those involved in accidents.
  • Observes drivers on the road, and corrects safety problems on the scene while documenting violations.
  • Liaisons between drivers and both clients and organization in customer service issues.
  • Evaluates and monitors driver safety and performance, as well as compliance in legal, employment and labor policy matters.
  • Assists Safety Manager with DOT/FTA compliance regarding drug testing and recordkeeping.
  • Assists in dispatching, driving, interviewing, and miscellaneous clerical tasks as needed.
  • Meets all driver qualifications at location.
  • Obtains a CDL required to operate vehicles at location, maintains that license, and drives route periodically.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 21 years or older
  • Valid CDL Class A or B with passenger and airbrake endorsement.
  • Minimum 3 years of driving experience as a Bus Operator.
  • Supervisor experience required.
  • Excellent communication & customer service skills.
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • TSI Certification in bus instruction preferred.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements:

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
