Job summary

Transdev North America in Oakland, CA is hiring a Road Supervisor to ensure routes are completed safely and in compliance with procedures. The role emphasizes customer service, safety, and day-to-day driver scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Communicate job requirements to drivers and manage day-to-day scheduling.
• Submit evaluation reports to local management and counsel drivers as needed.
• Conduct on-the-scene accident investigations and assist with accident reports and OSHA reports.
• Develop and host driver training and safety courses; retrain drivers involved in accidents.
• Observe drivers on the road and correct safety issues while documenting violations.
• Liaise between drivers, customers and the organization on safety concerns.
• Assist Safety Manager with DOT/FTA compliance and drug testing.

Transdev in Oakland, CA is hiring a Road Supervisor. Road Supervisors ensure all routes are completed in compliance with safety procedures. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.

Non-CBA Position

Benefits Include

• Competitive compensation package of minimum $28.08 per hour - Maximum $36.24 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate job requirements and responsibilities to drivers.
• Day to day scheduling, counseling, and submitting evaluation reports to local management.
• Conduct on-the-scene accident investigations; assist drivers in preparing accident reports, OSHA reports
• and safety violations documents.
• Develop and host driver training and safety courses; train new drivers and retrain drivers involved in
• accidents.
• Observe drivers on the road - correct safety problems on the scene while documenting violations.
• Liaison between drivers and both the customers and organization in customer service concerns
• Evaluate and monitor driver safety and performance in compliance with legal, employment and labor
• policy matters.
• Assist Safety Manager with DOT/FTA compliance - drug testing and recordkeeping.
• Drive routes periodically.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Class C Drivers License
• Supervisory experience with hourly employees; 2-3 years transit supervisory experience preferred
• Computer literate - basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed
• outside, work alone and in remote locations.
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
• Push and pull objects up to 20 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
