Job summary

MTM Transit is seeking a Road Supervisor in Bakersfield, CA to ensure fleet operations meet standards and regulatory requirements. You will supervise drivers, oversee maintenance, and support safety investigations while driving routes and improving service quality.

Responsibilities include reporting on route performance, assisting customers, and coordinating with Kern Transit. Starting pay is $24.00 per hour with full benefits and growth opportunities within a safety-focused organization.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21 years or older and have a valid U.S. Driver's license for past 5 years.
• Must have California Class B driver's license with Passenger Endorsement.
• No felony convictions involving moral turpitude or narcotics in the last 5 years.
• No Reckless Driving or suspended license in past 7 years; max 2 in a lifetime.
• No DUI/DWI convictions.

• Oversee on-time performance measures of drivers and safety compliance daily.
• Provide oversight of fleet maintenance program.
• Coordinate data and photo collection at accident scenes.
• Investigate accidents and assist with determinations.
• Assist drivers with questions and on-road support.
• Assist customers with information and complaint resolution.
• Provide management with route/schedule effectiveness reports.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

What will your job look like?

In partnership with Kern Transit the Road Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all fleet operations meet company standards and are in compliance with all governmental or regulatory standards. Ensure efficient mechanical operation and appearance of each vehicle is maintained. Monitor all accident and injury investigations. Monitor comments and complaints of passengers regarding service, especially feedback regarding the safety of passengers. Ensure all daily routes are supplied with drivers. Develop utilization reports to establish cost effective routes and schedules to meet the needs of the customer and client.

Starting Pay Rate: $24.00

CDL Requirement: Class B with Passenger Endorsement

What You'll Do (Essential Functions)

• Oversee on time performance measures of drivers, monitor driving and safety practices of drivers daily
• Provide oversight of fleet maintenance program
• Respond and coordinate data and photo collection at accident and incident scenes
• Investigate and assist with accident determination
• Assist drivers with questions, customer assistance and overall on the road support
• Assist customers with information and complaint resolution
• Provide management with reports to assist with the evaluation of route and schedule effectiveness
• Perform additional duties as assigned or required

What We're Looking For (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

• Experience working in a supervisory role preferred
• Knowledge of DOT and FTA safety regulations preferred
• Thorough knowledge of accident investigation preferred
• Knowledge of Safety and training practices and procedures
• Ability to communicate, teach and mentor employees
• Must be able to demonstrate conflict resolution skills
• Quick to process information and make adjustments or recommendations
• Skills in the use of computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel and other Microsoft applications

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must have valid U.S. Driver's license for past 5 years
• Must have and maintain a valid California Class B driver's license
• No felony convictions involving moral turpitude or narcotics within previous five (5) years
• No Reckless Driving or driving with a suspended license within the past 7 years and no more than 2 in a lifetime
• No DUI or DWI convictions
• Possess valid authorization to work in the United States
• Must be able to pass a DOT Physical and pre-employment drug screening
• Must pass criminal background check and investigation & Motor Vehicle Record check
• A minimum of two (2) experience as a driver in similar service
• 1 year experience in safety & on-the-road service management
