Job summary

Peckham is seeking an Equipment Operator to join our union team in Massachusetts. The role involves operating a range of heavy equipment on road, site, and highway construction projects, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

The ideal candidate has experience with heavy equipment, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends. You will contribute to safe, efficient project execution while adhering to company policies and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience operating heavy equipment (preferred).
• Must be able to work variable hours including day, night, weekends and overtime.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Proficient verbal and written English.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Legal right to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as pavers, shuttle buggies, rollers, graders, rubber tire excavators and other equipment.
• Assist in maintenance and other physical duties on the job site.
• Wear PPE and comply with safety regulations; report safety concerns.
• Follow daily procedures and protocols as set forth in orientations and trainings.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform preventive maintenance; report defects.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
• Maintain reliable attendance and dependability in meeting scheduled work hours.
