Job summary

SunCoast Blood Centers in Bradenton, FL is seeking energetic individuals for the Driver / Entry-Level Phlebotomist role, delivering the Teal Blood Mobile to community drives and training to become a phlebotomist.

No prior phlebotomy is required; we provide comprehensive training and ongoing support through our Donor Services team, including safety, equipment handling, and patient care during and after donation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in phlebotomy, medical field, customer service, or related field preferred.
• Valid driver's license preferred; reliable transportation required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register donors and patients.
• Determine donor eligibility based on established guidelines.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures for whole blood collection.
• Provide post-donation care and instructions, including management of adverse reactions.
• Ensure proper storage of blood and prepare units for transport.
• Conduct routine quality control, maintenance, and validation of equipment.
• Report equipment malfunctions or deviations to the crew chief.
• Monitor inventory levels and report supply needs.
• Meet established collection goals.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Participate in safety training and compliance activities.
• Perform other related duties as necessary to support Suncoast Blood Centers' mission and vision.
