Job summary

The City of Santa Fe Springs is seeking Road Maintenance Worker I/II/III to perform construction and maintenance on roads, drainage systems, and related structures. You will operate light to heavy equipment, conduct safety checks, and manage traffic control at work sites.

Qualifications

• Completion of the twelfth grade or equivalent.
• Experience in road maintenance or construction is desirable.
• Valid California driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Performs heavy manual labor in resurfacing, oiling, and patching roads; digs and backfills trenches and other excavations.
• Operates various equipment, including light trucks, dump trucks, backhoes, rollers, loaders, snow removal, water tankers, and learns to operate heavier equipment.
• Performs and assists in installation of traffic signs; paints traffic guards, barricades, and raised traffic bars on pavement.
• Operates and maintains road striping vehicle and multiple paint systems in accordance with codes and ordinances.
• Maintains logs and records of work performed and materials and equipment used.
