Job summary

Lane County is seeking a capable Lead Worker to oversee Road Maintenance Zone 1 Crew and drive daily operations for safe, efficient road maintenance and repair across our facilities and public spaces.

The ideal candidate brings leadership experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a hands-on approach to maintenance tasks, with a valid Oregon Class A CDL and medical card. Expect routine coordination, safety oversight, and community-facing responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Four years of progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment.
• Up to one year of technical or specialized training beyond high school.

Responsibilities

• Lead work crews assigned to road maintenance and repair.
• Coordinate daily operations and assign tasks to maintenance staff.
• Provide guidance and oversee safety, quality, and efficiency of work.
• Track equipment, materials, and work activities; respond to public questions and concerns.
• Support optimal use of available resources and mentor team members.
