Job summary

Tarrant County College seeks a workforce-ready operator to run trucks and light equipment for road maintenance and construction on county and city projects.

You will control traffic at worksites, perform routine equipment maintenance, and transport gear as needed. A high school diploma or GED is required, with at least one year of related experience; a Class C license is required on hire, and a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement within eight months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one (1) year related experience.
• An additional four (4) years of related experience may substitute for a high school diploma.
• A current and valid Class C driver license is required upon hire.
• A Class A CDL with tanker endorsement is required within eight (8) months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates and/or drives truck or light equipment.
• Performs road maintenance or construction related duties while operating equipment.
• May transport equipment and supplies.
• Controls traffic flow at work site.
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment or trucks and reports needed repairs.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.
