Job summary

Tarrant County is seeking a responsibilities-focused equipment operator for maintenance and construction of County roads and city projects. You will operate trucks and light equipment, perform related road maintenance tasks, and ensure safety by controlling traffic at worksites.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of related experience, and a Class C license; a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement must be obtained within eight months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one (1) year related experience.
• An additional four (4) years of related experience may substitute for a high school diploma.
• A current and valid Class C driver license is required upon hire.
• A Class A CDL with tanker endorsement is required within eight (8) months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment involved in the maintenance and construction of County roads and city projects.
• Operates and/or drives truck or light equipment
• Performs road maintenance or construction related duties while operating equipment
• May transport equipment and supplies
• Controls traffic flow at work site
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment or trucks and reports needed repairs
• Performs all other related duties as assigned
