Job summary

Tarrant County is seeking an individual to operate specialized/heavy construction equipment for the maintenance and construction of County roads and city projects. The candidate will perform various duties such as operating equipment, transporting supplies, and maintaining traffic control at the work site.

To qualify, applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, with at least two years of related experience. A Class A CDL is required upon hire, with additional endorsements needed within thirty days. The position requires physical capability to handle heavy objects and exposure to various weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • Two years of related experience required or more experience in lieu of a diploma.
  • Class A CDL required upon hire and tanker endorsement within 30 days.
  • Must possess basic knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate different types of specialized/heavy equipment.
  • Perform road maintenance or construction duties.
  • Transport equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain and control traffic at work site.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
  • May perform general landscape maintenance.
