Job summary

Gila County Community College is seeking a hands-on Road Maintenance Worker to operate heavy equipment for road construction and landfill tasks. The role requires strong safety discipline, the ability to grade and repair roads, and coordination of inmate work detail.

You will assist landfill customers and help maintain road infrastructure, ensuring compliance with environmental and traffic safety regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; two years’ road construction/maintenance experience or landfill operations experience or equivalent combination.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License; within 3 months CDL written test; by 9 months obtain Arizona Class A CDL.

Responsibilities

• Operate road construction and maintenance equipment with safety regulations.
• Grade, pave, repair roads and maintain ditches and culverts.
• Coordinate inmate work detail and perform manual labor as needed.
• Assist landfill customers and manage waste handling and recycling activities.
• Follow safety and traffic control protocols at all times.
