Job summary

The Cambridge Department of Public Works is seeking a Motor Equipment Operator to operate various trucks and support roadway maintenance in all weather conditions.

Eligible applicants must hold a valid CDL Class B, have at least one year of driving experience, and provide a valid DOT medical certificate. A driving record and FMCSA Clearinghouse registration may be required; an on-road driving assessment will be part of the interview process.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current and valid CDL Class B.
• Minimum one year driving experience.
• Must present a valid DOT medical certificate.
• Must possess a satisfactory driving record.
• Candidates may need to provide a copy of their driving record dated within the previous six months at interview.
• Registration with FMCSA Clearinghouse may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate pick-up, dump, and panel trucks, or other vehicles up to 26,001 pounds.
• Load/unload trucks, haul materials, plow and sand highways, maintain equipment.
• Perform manual labor tasks when not operating equipment.
