Job summary

Sacramento Native American Health Center, Inc is seeking a Grounds Person - Laborer to support a road construction crew by performing physically demanding tasks, site preparation, and equipment maintenance. The role includes operating a chainsaw, following safety procedures, and traveling 80% within Northern California on a Sunday-to-Friday schedule.

Responsibilities include manual labor in all weather, load/unload materials, and maintain a safe work environment while coordinating with teammates

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience with forestry, road construction, or general construction labor duties.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel 80% and work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to operate chainsaw and other equipment following safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare sites by cleaning the site, loading or unloading materials, and removing hazards.
  • Perform manual labor for 8 to 12 hours per day in all weather conditions.
  • Operate a chainsaw and other assigned equipment per safety guidelines.
  • Survey, evaluate, and ensure work area is safe, complying with OSHA regulations.
  • Inspect equipment, perform routine maintenance, and report needs promptly.
  • Follow supervisor work orders and maintain attendance and punctuality.
